Mature trees and open lawn at The Emerald Pines, Scottsdale

Our Story

A home built on Northwest roots.

The Emerald Pines carries a philosophy of care shaped fifteen hundred miles away, beneath a very different canopy of trees.

Where It Began

A childhood among the evergreens.

Our founder grew up in the Pacific Northwest, in a home where the seasons were marked by rain on cedar shingles and the particular hush of a forest holding its breath. Family gathered around long tables. Elders were kept close, cared for at home for as long as love and circumstance allowed.

When it came time to build a place for other families to do the same, that early lesson came with it: a good home for later life shouldn't feel like an institution. It should feel like shelter — quiet, considered, and built to last, the way a stand of old pines is built to last.

The Emerald Pines takes its name, and its temperament, from that memory. We've simply moved it two thousand feet lower and several thousand miles south, into the light of the Arizona desert.

“A good home doesn't announce itself. It simply holds you — the way a grove of pines holds the wind.”

What We Believe

The values behind every home.

Dignity

Every resident is met as the whole person they are, not a diagnosis to be managed.

Rootedness

Like the pines of the Northwest, our homes are built to shelter, endure, and grow deeper with time.

Quiet Craft

Restrained, considered design — natural materials and generous light over ornament.

Family First

We treat every family's trust as the responsibility it is, with honesty at every step.
